American Civil Liberties Dead After Long Battle With Authoritarianism

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Americans across the country mourned the loss of American civil liberties on Friday night after they finally succumb to a decades-long fight against authoritarianism. “American civil liberties lived a good, long life, and will be remembered fondly for their legacy of granting us freedoms like a woman’s right to choose, affordable access to healthcare, and marriage equality,” said Rabbi Ari Greenburg at a candlelight vigil held Friday night at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. “Although American civil liberties may be gone, they will not be forgotten,” he later added. American civil liberties are survived by 328 million citizens who will now be at the mercy of an autocratic regime with zero regard for human rights.
